![]() It’s an excellent tripod to take on location. This lightweight video tripod weighs 2.57kg and folds down to 690mm. Combine it with the 504 QF II / 300DX Short Column and it lowers to 450mm for low angle or macro videography. 3 position leg locks make for easy set up on uneven ground or steps. Simply loosen and tighten the leg lock knob to extend or shorten them. They are easy to set up and fold down securely. The 504QF-II shares it tripod legs with the ABLE 300DX. The head also has a video quick release plate for fast mounting and un-mounting of the camera. There is a bubble level built into the base of the head quick leveling after set up. The panhandle is long enough to give excellent leverage for smooth panning. It comes complete with a solid SLIK 2-way fluid pan head incorporating an easy to grip pan handle with full angle adjustments. The legs are made of AMT (Aluminum-Magnesium-Titanium) alloy that provide the tripod with strength and durability.Looking for a tripod that is good for both video and still photography? The combination of the black finish and the foam leg wraps give this tripod a very classy look, and whilst this is the most expensive tripod I've purchased, after using it for a couple of weeks I can say that it's worth every penny. In fact, because of the independently adjustable legs, there's a wide range of Horizontal Tilt adjustment available, more than on any other tripod I've used, and that long handle becomes VERY welcome! Like I said, a minor issue and certainly not one that would make me take off a Star from the rating. The 504QFII has the fluidity necessary in its pan/tilt head to be able to follow. You have to unscrew it and either drop it into the bag as is, or screw it into the end of the Vertical Tilt Handle, which is how the tripod arrives. Slik 504QF-II Tripod System is a finely manufactured tripod for the price. ![]() Because of the design of the head the tripod CANNOT be stored in a bag with this handle in place. One minor quibble or "Con" is the Horizontal Tilt Handle. VERY important, the Center Column is in TWO parts, and NOT one as detailed in the spec above.īy unscrewing the lower section of the column, and opening the legs out as wide as they can go you can get your camera down to about a foot off the ground, which gives you a whole new perspective on things great for landscape or architectural photography! ![]() In fact, the legs can be opened out practically "flat," to get you close to the ground, and this is. The angle and length of the legs can be adjusted independently, which is ideal for when you're setting up on rough ground for instance, or on a flight of stairs! For the money this is an outstanding tripod it comes with a 3 way Pan/Tilt head - all metal, no flimsy plastic! - that can be swapped-out for a Ball Head or different Pan/Tilt head from Slik, or just about any major manufacturer.
